The Men's Rugby Club began by a group of inexperinced and experinced players in 1993, since then they have won 3 championships, 97,98,00 all of the North Conference.

The Women's Club was started in 1996 by Nicole Novello and Jen Wilson, since that time they have won 3 championships as well, 1998, 1999, 2000..

A very heavely used resource the teams at Castleton used throughout their progress was the local Men's Club (Rutland Area Touring Side also known as the RATS) from nearby Rutland, VT.

Presently both teams remain part of the New England Football Union (NEFU)who maintains thier fall schedules. They answer to the main governing body for the entire country which is called USA Rugby. The New England Referee Association has provided Castleton with officiating both locally and for away matches.
