Southwest Vermont Science Partnership
History:
The SW VT Science Partnership was formed in March of 2005 in an effort to collaborate in developing high quality science assessments, professional development, and to inform the science teaching professional community. The steering committee is an outgrowth of the curriculum coordinators and represents efforts for the supervisory unions in the partnership.
During the summers of 2004 and 2005, the Curriculum Coordinator’s sponsored a Science Assessment Institute. This summer, the Steering Committee has recommended that the Curriculum Coordinators support two institutes and that initiative is moving forward presently.
The Steering Committee has set up a sub-committee which will review assessments designed by teachers to be available on the website for local classroom use. The committee will review the assessments to make sure that they are high quality, NSTA and VT Science aligned, and equally accessible to all students in that grade level.
